The Mexican Revolution $15

  

Whether in his native country or during his many engagements at Caesar's Magical Empire in Las Vegas or at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles, Fenik has long been perplexing some of magic's top names with his Mexican Revolution routine.
The effect is straightforward and eye-poppingly visual: four jacks turn face down one at a time, then turn back face up, and finally have their backs change from blue to red. Its highly ingenious method reduces sleights to an absolute minimum, but it's so much fun to watch you'll want to stay in front of the mirror doing it again and again!

From Emerson & West. Seven ancient playing cards are shown to be six black spot cards and one King of Diamonds. The proprietor of a game of chance at an old traveling country fair divides the seven cards into two groups and asks the spectators to wager as to which group contains the Diamond. An elderly Gypsy woman, having wagered and lost, placed a curse upon the man and his game. When next he attempts to operate his game it is found that all the cards are winners! The cards are fanned to show all the faces are Diamond Kings and all the backs are normal!

 COLOR MONTE  $7 

  

From Jim Temple. Three cards are shown. Two have a red spot, one has a blue spot. Performer explains that this is a gambling game. If you can find the blue spot you win a $1.00, if you're wrong, you lose $1.00. Performer is going to show how he got taken. He shows blue card on top. He turns it face down and places it on the bottom. When he shows bottom card, it's a red one. He shows top card, it's red. He shows the middle one, it, too, is red. This means so far that he has lost $3.00 because every time he picks the card he thinks is blue, he gets the red. So performer says that he accused the gambler of not even having a blue one. He shows that bottom card is now a blue one, so he's lost another 41.00. Then he says that if it's on the bottom, it can't be on top. Wrong again, because there it is. Then he shows it also in center. So far, he's lost $6.00. So he says that the thinks gambler is using more than three cards. He counts them on the table showing just three. Now he' s lost $7.00. So performer says that gambler gave him a chance to get even, double or nothing. He shows one card has blue spot, other has red. Tell color of third card and we're even. Performer says he was wrong again and ended up losing $14.00. Performer turns over third card as he says this and it has $14 printed on it.

 

 CORNERED $25 

  

CORNERED: The magician removes a deck of cards. He shuffles the deck and has a card selected and signed. The magician displays both sides of the card very openly on all sides and shows both of his hands to be absolutely empty. He then tears a corner off the card. The torn off piece and the card are again very freely displayed. The magician then waves the card over the piece and the torn piece visually pops back onto the card! The card can again be shown freely on both sides! The signed card can then be handed to the spectator for examination and as a souvenir!

This super fooler is the perfect demonstration item!

EFFECT: A card is selected and signed on the face, you draw a picture of a clock on the back of the selection. The spectator is asked to name any time (no force) and the fingers on the clock visually move to another time! That's good, but it's not the spectator's time. The fingers move for a second time, coming to rest on the exact same time the spectator merely thought of! The card is immediately handed out. No switch at the end. Precision made gimmick.

EFFECT: A spectator is asked to select one of five E.S.P. cards, which is then returned to the packet and shuffled. The magician explains that his "psychic snake" will locate the chosen card. The snake is placed in the spectator's hand. The magician places one card at a time on the snake's back and when the snake senses that the chosen card is on its back, it snaps up and coils around the card! Amazingly the psychic snake has correctly selected the spectator's card!

EFFECT: The magician starts by placing the two red Aces off to the side. Two spectators then each select a card and replace them back in the deck. The magician inserts the Aces face-up into the pack, then immediately spreads the deck to reveal two cards between the face-up Aces! Effect: A spectator is asked to freely shuffle a deck of cards. The mentalist displays a book on divination, explaining that he has been studying Cartomancy-the ancient system of telling fortunes with playing cards.

An envelope is then given to the participant to hold and the performer says, "Even though we've never met before, inside this envelope is a Cartomantic reading that I've prepared just for you. Let's see if the system works!"

The top five cards of the shuffled pack are taken and displayed by being inserted into the edge of the book. The spectator is told to choose any of the five cards. The selected card is, for example, the four of clubs. The four unchosen cards are shown to be all different. When the fortune message is removed from the envelope, it reads:

Transform a signed card into an impossible object-that your spectator gets to keep!

The Effect: You display both sides of a small printed Instruction Card for "The World's Greatest Card Trick" which you just received in today's mail and offer to try it out with the spectator's help. As you read off each step, the spectator follows the instruction. The instructions guide the spectator to select a playing card from a shuffled deck, sign its face, replace it in the deck and finally wrap the deck up in rubber bands, "magician-proofing" the pack. The spectator's signed selection remains in full view the entire time until it's cleanly buried in the deck. The spectator wraps the deck herself and then drops it into your jacket pocket.

The final instruction is then read, but it simply says "magically produce the card." Undaunted, you make a magical gestured over the Instruction Card-which you've been holding in plain view since the very beginning of the trick and when you turn it around, the other side is shown to have magically changed into the spectator's selected card, complete with their signature!

Simple, Streamlined and Sassy!

A Martin Lewis classic (how many magicians first learned of Martin Lewis, in fact) has been streamlined for an even greater impact, with three phases and an incredible surprise climax.

The magician displays three blank jumbo-sized (4.5" by 7") cards along with an Ace.

One of the blank cards is placed aside and a "three card monte" is performed with the remaining two blank cards and the Ace. The spectators can never find the Ace, but no wonder...the magician reveals that all three of the cards in his hands are blank and it was the Ace that was placed aside! This is repeated once more and on the third time when the spectators are asked to guess where the Ace is they'll of course say that it's on the table...but now the card on the table is shown to be blank, and the three cards in the magician's hands are all shown to be Aces!
